February 21, 2014
The Hollywood Bowl was honored today at the 25th Annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, as the Best Major Outdoor Concert Venue.

This distinction marks the tenth consecutive nomination and subsequent award for the iconic venue and re-confirms the Hollywood Bowl as a vital and relevant destination for performers and audiences alike.

Renowned for its exquisite setting, the Hollywood Bowl plays host to a tremendous diversity of artists, from classical and pops to jazz, rock, pop and world music.

During the 2013 season, the Hollywood Bowl concert series included performances by Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Josh Groban, Queen Latifah, Diana Ross, Itzhak Perlman, Tony Bennett, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Willie Nelson, Kristin Chenoweth, Natalie Cole, Vampire Weekend, and M83, among many others. The team of Andrew Hewitt and Bill Silva also brought a star-studded line-up that included concerts from Fleetwood Mac, Andrea Bocelli, Bjork, Phish, John Mayer, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, and Avicii.

"We are thrilled that the Hollywood Bowl has been recognized by Pollstar for ten consecutive years as the best major outdoor concert venue in the country," said Gail Samuel, Chief Operating Officer of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association.

"Being acknowledged by industry peers is a gratifying testament to all of the hard work that goes into a Bowl season. We are grateful for our relationships with our presenting partners and for the ongoing support of the County of Los Angeles, and together look forward to another exceptional summer season in 2014."

The Pollstar Concert Industry Awards honor the best of the concert industry for their accomplishments. Nominees were selected by a cross section of international music business professionals and winners were determined by the international readership of Pollstar.

Subscriptions for the 93rd season at the Hollywood Bowl are on sale now.

Nestled snugly in the Hollywood Hills, the Hollywood Bowl is the largest natural amphitheater in the United States. Seating nearly 18,000 patrons, the Bowl has been the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since its official opening in 1922; outdoor concert performances each summer feature classical, jazz, and world music presented by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association.

To this day, $1 buys a seat at the top of the Bowl for many of the Los Angeles Philharmonic's concerts. The Bowl's summer music festivals have become as much a part of a Southern California summer as beaches and barbecues, the Dodgers and Disneyland. The Bowl grounds themselves one of Los Angeles County's most renowned parks are open year-round for visitors to enjoy free of charge.
