FDA designed the stage lighting and rigging systems for the Casino's 300-seat cabaret theatre, in partnership with themed entertainment architects Rockwell Group and KPF. Our role as theatre consultants involved planning and designing the room and theatre equipment to showcase everything from magicians to jazz musicians. The project was part of an $800 million effort by Mohegan Sun to reposition itself as a stronger player in the region's gaming industry.

The project envisioned a 40-story, 1200-room hotel, and 10,000 seat sports arena to rival its competitor, the Foxwoods Resorts Casino in nearby Ledyard. When fully retrofitted, new complex will feature ballrooms, event centers, flexible meeting rooms and 280,000 s.f. of gaming space.
