Cincinnati Music Hall Study
Project Category:Planning and Feasibility
Location:Cincinnati, Ohio

FDA developed a planning study for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra to address mounting concerns about their aging facility and form a plan for alterations and improvements.  We led a detailed Needs Assessment phase, during which we met with stakeholders and established a Working Group of decision-makers to lead the project from the client's side.  We documented user concerns, analyzed facility information, and identified programming and use opportunities.

In the next phase, we explored solutions and tested different scenarios in an iterative process which included intense collaboration with the Working Group. We established cost and programming impacts for each option -- some of which involved completely re-imagining the interior of the existing hall -- and helped the Working Group prioritize the options along spectra of cost, operational sustainability, and programming impact.  The study culminated in an Implementation Plan, laying out a usable roadmap for completing the projects.
