Arts Commons is the home of Calgary's most innovative artistic companies and partners, and is proud to present and promote creative collaboration within Calgary. Arts Commons is one of Canada's largest and most vibrant arts centres; in the heart of Calgary's Cultural District in the downtown core, the centre occupies a full city block and is home to five theatres and the world-class Jack Singer Concert Hall. FDA and AMS's scope of work for the new Arts Commons facility to be located in Olympic Plaza in downtown Calgary included programming and concept design planning services for a proposed multi-venue facility: a 1,200-seat multi-purpose hall, 250-seat black box studio theatre, and 80-seat theatre. FDA consulted on facility programming, stage and auditorium design, seating layouts and sightlines, back-of-house and public space planning, and theatrical technical infrastructure.
