Stage Lighting Systems Design

M.F.A. Lighting Design, Indiana University, 2016;
B.A. Theatrical Production and Design, Susquehanna University, 2013

Theatre Planning is not a licensed profession.

Aaron joined the FDA team after working in the world of architectural lighting design, as well as creating as a freelance theatrical lighting designer with various theatres across the country.

Originally from Pennsylvania, he received his undergraduate degree in Theatrical Production and Design from Susquehanna University. From there, received his MFA in Lighting Design from Indiana University. He spent a year working for the Jacob’s School of Music at the Musical Arts Center while exploring teaching and design focused on ballet and opera.

Aaron has had the pleasure of collaborating at Yale, Molly College, Adirondack Theatre Festival, Southeastern Summer Theatre, Gretna Theatre, The New Group, Playwrights Horizons, Bloomington Playwrights Project, Atlantic Theatre, Roundabout Theatre, and many other organizations. He looks forward to collaborating with new people in new venues.

Prior to FDA, Aaron gained experience in architectural lighting from Tillotson Design Associates as a designer on a range of projects, including Houston Holocaust Museum, Smithsonian, New York City Transit, MoMA, and One Vanderbilt.

Nowadays Aaron is excited to be collaborating on the following projects at FDA: David Geffen Hall, North Carolina School of the Arts, Nuyorican Poets Café, American Academy of Arts and Letters, Delacorte Theatre, and Omaha Performing Arts Center.

Although he has lived around the country, he is happy to reside uptown to be closer to family back East. He enjoys exploring the city for the best hot chocolate, beer and river views of the city, not necessarily at the same time.
