Apollo Theater

Fisher Dachs Associates has been involved in the restoration of this 1913 landmark building since 2000. In partnership with architects Beyer Blinder Belle, over a series of phased renovations, FDA has introduced new seating and lighting positions, support space and green room renovations, a new fire curtain, and greatly improved rigging accommodations. These improvements allow much more flexibility for the Apollo’s programmed events.

Historic detail has been restored to the hallmark marquee, the original ornamental terracotta facade and metallic cornice, and ground-floor finishes. Beyer Blinder Belle has designed new box office facilities and entrance doors, and has enhanced the signage and graphic technologies to enable the Apollo to easily and quickly change notices for upcoming performances.

FDA is currently designing much-needed renovations to the stage house and counter-weight rigging systems.
