University of Wisconsin at Madison | Hamel School of Music

A highly competitive RFP process led the State of Wisconsin and the leadership at the University of Wisconsin Madison’s music school to select Holzman Moss Bottino Architecture and Fisher Dachs Associates to design a new 57,000 square foot, $50 million music performance building. The feasibility and programming study, now complete, resulted in a cutting edge student-focused building featuring an intimate 800-seat concert hall, a 350-seat recital hall for both traditional and experimental performances, rehearsal rooms, and additional support spaces to make this an ideal teaching facility. Once complete, the new Hamel School of Music will allow UW Madison’s students to rise to their professional potential while in an undergraduate setting.
